So, I was scrolling through Twitter yesterday and came across this interesting article about Chris Pratt and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Apparently, James Gunn, the writer/director of the first two films, got fired by Disney last year over some controversial tweets. Sad news, I know, but according to this article, Chris Pratt is still on board to star in the third movie.
The article makes it clear that even though Pratt supports Gunn as a friend, he’s not going to walk away from the franchise. As a huge fan of the Guardians films myself, I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, I’m glad we’ll still get to see Star-Lord and the gang kick butt on the big screen. On the other hand, it won’t be the same without Gunn’s humor and writing.
The article also speculates about who might take over directing duties for the third movie. Honestly, I have no idea who would be a good fit. Maybe they could convince Taika Waititi to step in? He did an amazing job with Thor: Ragnarok.
All in all, it’s a bittersweet situation for Guardians fans. We’re excited to see the next installment, but we’ll always wonder how much better it could have been with Gunn at the helm. But one thing’s for sure: Chris Pratt is still our Star-Lord, and we’ll be cheering him on no matter what.
